Downtown Bakery and Creamery Wedding Cakes
At the Downtown Bakery and Creamery we custom design cakes to fit your personal style and taste. We offer a wide selection of cakes, fillings and frostings that can be mixed and matched to create a one of a kind cake for your special celebration.
We offer a range of cake shapes (heart, round, square or rectangle) and tier sizes. Tiers can be stacked flush, separated by different lengths of pillars or arranged separately.
You can choose from intricate basket weaves, delicate vine motifs, romantic scrolls and drapery or an elegant draping of marzipan or fondant piped with royal icing.
We can provide fresh flowers from our gardens in colors to compliment your theme. You can select whole flowers or petals, natural or hand sugared for a unique presentation.
All of our cakes, fillings and frostings are made from fresh whole eggs, grade AA butter, real cream, local and organic fresh fruits, bourbon vanilla bean and pure chocolate.
Cake Descriptions
HOT MILK SPONGE: A traditional sponge cake enriched with milk and butter. Can be brushed with flavored syrup to compliment filling and icing.
POUND CAKE: A dense, rich, long keeping cake which can be flavored with vanilla bean, lemon, orange, rose geranium or any flavor you may fancy.
ANGEL CAKE: A light, moist, pure white cake with no egg yolks or dairy products.
ALMOND TORTE: A rich, buttery yellow cake made with almond paste.
NUT TORTE: Viennese style cake made with eggs and your choice of ground nuts, very little flour and no dairy products. Light and springy texture.
BUTTERMILK SPICE CAKE: Moist layer cake fragrant with cinnamon.
CHOCOLATE SPONGE CAKE: A light cake with a delicate chocolate flavor. Works with a variety of contemporary flavors.
GERMAN CHOCOLATE: A fine crumbed cake with a bittersweet chocolate flavor layered with a traditional pecan and coconut custard.
CHOCOLATE LAYER CAKE: American-style chocolate butter cake with a fine tender crumb and very chocolatey flavor.
VERY RICH CHOCOLATE CAKE: Dark and dense, nearly flourless European style cake with a moist fudgy texture.
Fillings
BUTTERCREAM: Flavored with citrus, vanilla, dark or white chocolate, coffee or liqueurs.
WHIPPED CREAM: Flavored with vanilla, chocolate or liqueur.
GANACHE: Bittersweet chocolate and cream.
CURD: Citrus or berry.
JAM: Seasonal flavors.
GERMAN CHOCOLATE: Pecans and coconut.
FRESH FRUIT: Seasonal.
PASTRY CREAM: A custard flavored with vanilla bean, coffee, coconut or liqueur.
FRENCH SILK: Dense chocolate cream.
Frostings
BUTTERCREAM: Flavors same as for fillings.
WHIPPED CREAM: Flavors same as for fillings.

Delivery
We are happy to deliver your cake within a 20 mile radius with no charge. Outside of this area a small charge will be added. Other arrangements can be made with you if delivery is not possible.
